XBM in the Community

XBM started life in a terraced house in Wakefield. Today our Head Office is still in West Yorkshire, just a few miles further west in Morley, south Leeds, and we remain committed to our local community, it’s people, concerns, and development.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) business model helps a company be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders, and the public.

XBM is a successful, growing company and, at a time when there are multiple challenges for businesses and society, we recognise that we can have a positive impact on our planet, our customers, our employees, and our wider communities.

XBM Sponsors The Wakefield Trinity Ladies Rugby League Team

Recognising the need to invest in both womens and grass roots sport in West Yorkshire, XBM is the main sponsor for the Wakefield Trinity Ladies Rugby League Team for the fourth year in a row.

Sport can teach leadership skills, the benefits of teamwork, strategic thinking, and the pursuit of excellence. Sport also has many physical and health benefits as a result of regular exercise.

Research has shown that girls and women who play sport have a more positive body image than those who do not, and higher levels of self-esteem and pride in themselves.

Joe Law - Wakefield Trinity Rugby League 1st team player

Joe Law, a 19-year-old rugby league player who plays for Wakefield Trinity RLFC, is also sponsored by XBM Limited. Joe started his rugby journey with Stanley Rangers in 2011, moving to Oulton Rangers in 2014. Joe joined the Wakefield Trinity Scholarship team in 2018 and played for them for two years before progressing to the Wakefield Trinity Academy team in 2020, where XBM first began to sponsor him.

He moved to the Wakefield Trinity First team in 2022 and made his match debut on 11th June 2023 against Leeds Rhinos. Joe’s career highlights so far include his Super League debut and captaining the Outwood Grange rugby team for the Australia Rugby Tour, where he achieved the Most Valuable Player award. Joe also scored a full-length try in his first time ever playing centre against Leeds under 19s as a 17-year-old.

Apart from rugby, Joe is also studying BSc Physiotherapy at the University of Bradford. Joe Law is a promising young rugby player with a bright future ahead of him. XBM are proud to sponsor him and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation

XBM’s ties with Wakefield Trinity go even further as one of our staff members is married to the Men’s first team player, Jay Pitts, and XBM also supports aspects of the wider work of the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation.

he Foundation is the charitable arm of the Rugby Super League Team, Wakefield Trinity. Over the last 15 years, they have pledged to use the power of the Rugby League and physical activity to inspire the community, creating lasting legacies for local people.

The Foundation works in three main areas: Education, Rugby League, and Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion. The staff and volunteers relish the opportunity to use sport and physical activity to create a positive change and impact on the lives of those they work with.

As well as  the Men’s and Women’s Teams, the Academy, Scholarship,  and youth teams for the under 14s and over 14s, Trinity has teams in the Physical Disability Rugby League, Learning Disability Rugby League, and Wheelchair Rugby League.

XBM Sponsors Trinity Under The Stars

Trinity Under the Stars - 2023

XBM sponsored the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation’s sleep-out event, “Trinity Under The Stars 2023” for the second year in a row. As well as raising funds for the Foundation through sponsorship, the event supports the work of Helping the Homeless Wakefield and the Wakefield Soup Kitchen.

XBM staff members are joining Wakefield Trinity team members and volunteers sleeping out in Wakefield Trinity’s home, the Be Well Support Stadium. The evening passed quickly with live music, quizzes, raffles, and the chats with members of the Men’s First and Ladies teams.

Event organiser, Will Moore, the Foundation’s Media and Commercial Executive was happy to see so many take part, with support for singers Local Vocals and Amber Falls.

This years event raised over £6,700, almost double that raised in 2022.

Celebrating 10 Years As Sponsor Of Sandal Rugby Union FC

Over that time XBM has sponsored the club’s 1XV team, the 2XV team, the inaugural Ladies team, the junior teams, the scoreboard, and pitch boards. We also provide their office print requirements.

Sandal RUFC was born on the 6th August 1927, and have come a long way from playing on the area known as the “Tetley Field” and using a beer store of the original Walnut Public House as its changing rooms.

In 1932/33 Sandal RUFC won the Yorkshire Shield by beating Scarborough at Bridlington by 13-6.

XBM Sponsors Ossett Albion Junior Football Club Under 8s

XBM sponsors grass roots Ossett Albion under 8s football teams, the Spartans, Trojans, and Titans. Ossett Albion provides children between 5 and 15 with an enjoyable and supportive environment for young players to develop their skills, build friendships, and develop a love for the game. For more information, contact Ossett Albion Under 8s Manager, Andrew Cross, via the club’s website: READ MORE>>

XBM supports grass roots sport for children because participating in sport helps children learn to work effectively together in a team setting, control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a positive way, as well as helping them build resilience and feel better about themselves. These, and the many physical and health benefits derived from regular exercise, provide opportunities for personal growth, development of life skills, and enriching community involvement.

XBM Staff Collect Food To Support Wakefield Street Kitchen

XBM collected food donations for the Wakefield Street Kitchen from its offices across the country donated by service, sales, marketing, and admin staff members.

These were delivered, along with other donations collected by the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation, to the Wakefield Street Kitchen charity on Friday 1st December, as temperatures dropped and increasing numbers of people turn to food banks.

According to statistics posted in March 2023, figures showed that in 2021/22, 2.1 million people in the UK had used a food bank in the previous 12 months. With the costs of living still rising, this number will only worsen across the next few years, with the Wakefield Street Kitchen acting as more than a kitchen, helping families in need over holiday season and through the coldest months of the year.

Wakefield Street Kitchen donations

The Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation was once again taken aback by the generosity of the community, with XBM, Wakefield College, Garforth Tigresses, the Finance Team at Pinderfields Hospital, Normanton Junior Academy, and members of the Wakefield Trinity fan base all collecting food and clothing to be donated.
